Seal leakages undermining national progress, CSN Scribe urges Tinubu
The General Secretary of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Very Rev. Fr. Zachariah Samjumi, has called on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led government to address the inefficiencies and corruption that are stifling the nation’s development.
In an interview on Sunday, September 1st, 2024, Fr Samjumi urged the government to “seal the leakages” that undermine national progress and prioritize the welfare of ordinary citizens.
He emphasized the urgent need for infrastructural improvements and a more empathetic approach to governance, particularly in bridging the gap between the elite and the common people. “Whether you are a senator or a bricklayer, our humanity is the same,” he stated, highlighting the shared responsibility to uplift all Nigerians.
He stressed the need for repentance, urging government officials to put themselves in the shoes of the struggling masses and to take meaningful steps to alleviate their suffering.
Fr Samjumi’s message serves as a strong call to action for leaders to take decisive steps in protecting the nation’s resources and ensuring equitable growth.
