JDPC Awka Diocese Visits Correctional Center Amawbia
On Friday, August 23, 2024, some members of Justice, Development, and Peace Caritas (JDPC), Awka Diocese organized a visit to Amawbia Correctional Center. During the visit, the JDPC team generously donated essential materials to the inmates, including 50 bags of 10kg rice, a bag filled with new clothes, several footballs, dozens of books, packet of pen, packets of drugs for malaria, typhoid and skin disease. These contributions aimed at improving the welfare and morale of the inmates.
In addition to the material gifts, the Director, JDPC, Awka Rev. Fr. Levi Ndubisi Ukor and JDPC Chairman Hon. P.C. Adinuba took the opportunity to share words of wisdom and encouragement with the inmates. Their messages focused on hope, personal development, and the possibility of a better future. The visit was part of the JDPC’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and fostering a spirit of compassion and solidarity within the diocese. The event was well-received, leaving a positive impact on the inmates at community. The total number of inmates met were 738(All males). 164= convicted
