Fr. Ogunyemi laments, “Nigeria is bleeding, Nigerians are suffering.”
Rev. Fr Victor Ogunyemi painted a bleak picture of Nigeria’s economic landscape, lamenting the toll it is taking on ordinary citizens.
“Life has been strangled by the economic downturn, especially with the increase in fuel prices,” he remarked.
According to Fr Ogunyemi, Nigerians are surviving on hope, clinging to the belief that tomorrow will be better.
He expressed deep concern over the apparent loss of governmental control. “Nigerians are truly suffering. The government seems to have lost its grip on the state, and they appear clueless on how to salvage the situation.
“Inflation is skyrocketing, yet salaries remain stagnant. Meanwhile, politicians continue to brazenly steal and flaunt their wealth before the struggling populace,” he said.
Fr Ogunyemi likened the suffering of Nigerians to martyrdom, a consequence of the government’s ineptitude.
“The hardship people endure is akin to bleeding from wounds inflicted by harsh economic policies,” he concluded, emphasizing the need for immediate action to alleviate the nation’s growing despair.
