welcome address
I am excited to announce to the general public the arrival of the website of the Department of Church and Society of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria. Church and Society Department of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria belongs to the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria. It is made up of four autonomous but inter -related Units, namely, Education, Justice and Peace, Health and Family and Human Life. In keeping with the mandates of the Bishops Conference, these Units agreed in their last Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in Nkpor –Onitsha January 22nd -25th 2019, to host a common website for purposes of greater collaboration and networking.
The Website was designed in a simple and interactive form to enhance easy surfing for all users. And it includes channels for navigation, with dropdown menus for both mobile and desktop versions. In the same way, we also streamlined the structures of the content, so that one would get more from a quick read. There are also a whole host of smaller but impactful touches, all to make your experiences of the new site worth the while.
We desire active participation of all the Units of the Department and this desire has led us to create sub-domains for each Unit to ensure that every Unit takes ownership of their sub-domain. It is therefore important that members of the various Units would ensure the sustainability of their sub domain by actively contributing to its content. Today more than ever before, Information Technology is the way forward. Communication has become the order of the day. The diverse Communication platforms in use today lend credence to this reality. We are therefore enjoined to become true agents of evangelization, by adding to the visibility of both our Units and the work we do in the public space for the Common Good of Society.
I hope you like the platform, and if you have any feedback, please let us know since the site is still work in progress. Welcome to www.csn-churchandsociety.org .
Yours in the service of Christ,
